Anhidrosis- what is it?

Runners drenched with sweat is a common sight after run during summer season. Sweating helps to keep body cool. Its an autonomous response of the body.


But not all are lucky and some runners even after hard physical exertion find it hard to sweat. This condition is called as Anhidrosis and it could turn fatal or uncomfortable for running.




Runners suffering from Anhidrosis internal temperature goes high and as a result one may face body symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea or heatstroke.


There are many conditions that could lead to Anhidrosis including prolong medication, issues with nervous system, drugs or alcohol consumption, diabetic condition, skin issues and many more


If you are suffering from this condition then consult your Ayurveda consultant. Ginger is the best remedy for same. Drink ginger tea or ginger infuse tea, at least 2-3 times in a week.


Overall as a precaution such runners should avoid long distance running in summer or complete your run in morning. The best is listen to your body and change your running plan. Let coach know if you have this condition.
